Getting started

Create your account, find your way around the four screens, and be set up with your own customers in about ten minutes.

Sheetsmith CRM answers one question: who should I get in touch with today? Everything in it is there to keep that answer right. This guide gets you from nothing to a working set-up.

Create your account

  1. Go to https://crm.sheetsmith.co.uk/ and choose Create a free account.
  2. Enter your email address and a password of at least 10 characters with a number in it.
  3. We email you a six-digit code. Type it in and you are logged in.

There is no card to enter and no trial clock. The free plan holds 25 contacts with every feature, for as long as you like.

The first screen

A new account opens on a welcome panel with three choices:

  • Import my contacts takes you to the importer. This is where most people should start: see Import your contacts.
  • Add one by hand opens the Contacts screen.
  • Show me with example data fills the account with a small, believable business so you can see every screen in use. The examples never count towards your 25 contacts, and Clear the examples removes them in one click.

The four screens

ScreenWhat it is for
TodayWhat is overdue, what is due today, what is coming up, deals nobody is chasing, customers who have gone quiet, and won work that has not been paid. The screen to open with your coffee.
ContactsEveryone you deal with. Search, sort by name or by longest since you were in touch, and open a person to see their whole history.
PipelineWork you have quoted for, as cards in columns, with a value per stage and in total. The stage names are yours to change.
SettingsYour plan, your team, importing, your phone, exporting and deleting your data.
The Today screen: overdue and due follow-ups, each with the contact's name
The Today screen: overdue and due follow-ups, each with the contact's name

Your first ten minutes

  1. Bring in your customers. Import a spreadsheet or your phone's contacts. You will see a preview before anything is saved.
  2. Rename the pipeline stages in Settings to the words you actually use, for example Enquiry, Quoted, Booked, Done, Lost.
  3. Add a follow-up for every open quote. On Today, type who it is with, what needs doing and when. This one step is what stops work slipping away.
  4. Put it on your phone. Add it to your home screen and connect your calendar: see On your phone.
  5. Tomorrow morning, open Today and do what it says.

Logging in and out

You stay logged in on a device for seven days. Log out is at the bottom of the side menu on a computer, and at the top right on a phone. If you forget your password, choose Forgot your password? on the login page and we email you a reset code.
